Dr Tay Yong Kwang

Professor Tay Yong Kwang is a senior consultant at the department of dermatology, Changi General Hospital, Singapore, and the Associate Designated institutional Official, SingHealth Residency. He has a special interest in the fields of pediatric dermatology and dermatologic laser surgery and has more than two hundred publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of Dermatological Treatment, Pediatric Dermatology, Journal of Dermatological Research, Dermatology and Therapy and Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology. He is the editor of the textbooks of "Laser and Light Dermatology in the Asian Skin" and of "Pediatric Skin of Color".

Upon graduating from the National University of Singapore, Dr Chandran completed her Basic Specialist Training in Internal Medicine. She went on to Advanced Specialist Training in Dermatology at the National Skin Centre which culminated in her being awarded the Best Candidate in the Dermatology Exit Examination by the Chapter of Dermatologists, College of Physicians, Singapore.

Dr Chandran was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Health to pursue fellowships in pediatric dermatology at the Erasmus MC-Sophia Children's Hospital, University Medical Centre, Rotterdam and in immunodermatology at the Centre for Blistering Diseases, University Medical Centre, Groningen. These have honed her subspecialty interests which include pediatric dermatology, autoimmune and genetic blistering skin diseases (such as epidermolysis bullosa), collagen vascular diseases involving the skin and medical dermatology. She currently heads the division of Dermatology at the National University Hospital, where she sees all patients with general dermatological problems and runs sub-speciality clinics in immunobullous diseases and pediatric dermatology.

Dr Chandran is passionate about educating the next generation of healthcare providers. As a member of the Dermatology Residents Advisory Committee and core faculty of the Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency for the Department of Medicine, NUHS, she is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education. She has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as chapters in dermatology textbooks.

Dr Hon is the consultant at the Hong Kong Children's Hospital. He is a clinical professor (Honorary) at the Department of Pediatrics and the Hong Kong Institute of Integrative Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received undergraduate medical education at the University of Western Australia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians (FAAP) and Fellow of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). He received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers, books and book chapters; and his research interests include many pediatric issues. He has performed extensive research on atopic diseases, topical emollients, antibiotic, corticosteroid, systemic immunotherapy, food avoidance and dietary supplementation, traditional Chinese medicine and bench research on eczema biomarkers, as well as many pediatric health issues (including SARS, respiratory infections, pneumococcus, asthma, poisoning and injuries). Dr Hon is particularly keen to education parents to dismiss a lot of myths and fallacies that hinder good child health.

Dr RashmiSarkar MD MNAMS is a Professor of Dermatology at Maulana Azad Medical College and Associated LNJP Hospital, New Delhi, India. She has done her MBBS from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana and MD (Dermatology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. She has done her Visiting Fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology from UCSF, San Fransisco, USA. She is teaching for last 19 years in 4 premier medical colleges. She is the Editor-in-Chief, Pigment International and World Clinics in Dermatology;was the Founder Editor of Asian Pigment Bulletin (APB); was Associate Editor of Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery (2011–14); Associate Editor, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology; Section Editor, Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology; Editorial Board Member of Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology, Indian Journal of Dermatology, and internationally, International Journal of Dermatology(2014–17), International Journal of Women's Dermatology, Dermatologic Therapy, and Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology;besides being a reviewer for 20 Journals. She has 175 publications in peer reviewed international and national journals and 60 chapters in textbooks of dermatology and pediatrics. She has edited 11 textbooks in dermatology. She was the President of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL), Delhi State Branch (2018). She was the only woman National Honorary Secretary of IADVL (2014–15); Chief Founder and President of Pigmentary Disorders Society; and Founding President of Joint Women's Dermatologic Society-Indian Women's Dermatologic Society. She is also a recipient of several prestigious international awards and honors including Maria Duran Fellowship from International Society of Dermatology (ISD), Member Making a Difference Award from American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), Career and Community Development Award from Women's Dermatologic Society, and other International Travel Awards from ISD, World Congress of Dermatology, and AAD. DrSarkar has been an invited speaker in many international and national conferences, including the prestigious Annual AAD Meetings in USA since 2006.

Nationally, she has been bestowed with the prestigious Dr B.M.Ambady Memorial Oration(2019) from IADVL, Dr B.V.Sathyanarayanan Oration from Dermazone South, IADVL AP(2015) and Dr Madhusudan Das Oration from Nalanda Medical College(2019). She has also been conferred with the most Inspiring Dermatologist Award from Economic Times (2019).

She holds many prestigious international board positions in Dermatology. She is Vice President of ISD; International Representative, Board of Directors in Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS) (2011–14; 2017–18); former Board of Directors in Skin of Color Society (SOCS); Chair of International Mentorship Committee of ISD; and Member of International Affairs Committee of AAD.
